Because we are supporting ourselves by working as software developers, 100% of the money that reaches us in Thailand (after handling and conversion fees) will go directly to the children at Hoay Maw. Prices are reasonably low in Thailand and therefore a lot can be achieved with relatively small amounts of money. We are committed to ensuring that money is spent in the most efficient way that will result in maximum sustainable benefit for the children.

Examples of how your money can make a real difference:

Christmas:

• £1.50 - $3 Christmas activities for a child
• £2 - $4 Christmas meal for a child
• £5 - $10 Christmas gifts for a child

Projects:

• £70 - $140 Running costs of pig farm for 1 month
• £200 - $400 Setup mushroom farm to run for 4-6 month season (to generate 10kg per day),
  i.e. "all-you-can-eat" mushrooms for 80 children at £1 - $2 per day
• £400 - $800 Stock fish pond and raise fish for 4 month period (to generate 1,000kg fish),
  i.e. 40p per kg

Health & Hygiene:

• £1 - $2 Basic hygiene supplies, e.g. soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, etc, for a child for 1 month
• £15 - $30 Basic medical supplies e.g. paracetamol, anti-bacterial powder, etc, for 80 children for 1 month
• £15 - $30 Cleaning detergents to promote better hygiene in the home for 1 month
• Any - Medical fund for children who don't qualify for Thai health care

Education:

• £5 - $10 School supplies e.g. exercise books, pencils, etc, for a child for a year
• £5 - $10 A pair of school shoes
• £15 - $30 One school uniform
• £20 - $40 Annual school registration fee for a child
• £60 - $120 Support the education of one child for a year

General:

• £2.50 - $5 Nutritious food (vegetables, fruit and occasional protein) for a child for 1 month
• £5 - $10 A game or sports equipment that can be used for quality time in "family groups"
• £5 - $10 A set of new clothes for a child
• £20 - $40 Living costs for a child for 1 month
• £40 - $80 Average wage for a care worker for 1 month
• £80 - $160 Electricity bill for 1 month
• Any - Home improvements will enhance children's sense of dignity and self-worth
